The Pink Romantic Lovers' Bridge is located at the intersection of Xiangshun East Road Section 1 and Jingxian Road in Dakeng, Taichung City. This is a new attraction in the Dakeng area. The bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with dozens of steel cables, and its overall pink appearance gives a romantic and warm feeling. The bridge deck is not made of cold concrete but of glass material that can reflect the entire bridge.
The innovative design of this bridge attracts many tourists. Whether viewed from the front, upside down, lying down, from afar, up close, during the day, or at night, the Dakeng Pink Lovers' Bridge showcases different styles and appearances. Up close, the bridge towers resemble the strong arms of lovers, and from afar, they look like the curved eyebrows of a smiling lover. Due to the design of the glass bridge deck, at night, the reflection of the Lovers' Bridge and the bridge itself form a large heart shape, enveloping those who come here and silently expressing the deep affection of lovers.
Dongdong Taro Balls
Dongdong Taro Balls is located on Section 2 of Dongshan Road in Beitun District, Taichung City. This store has been operating locally for over ten years and has become one of the iconic features of Dakeng. The taro balls here are handmade, representing one of the distinctive flavors of Dakeng cuisine. Even with the expansion of the store, it remains crowded with visitors, showcasing its charm.
The taro balls at Dongdong Taro Balls are made from fresh taro from Dajia. The taro is grated into shreds, steamed in a barrel, mashed while hot, and then mixed with high-quality tapioca flour. Finally, they are carefully hand-rolled into strips and cut into individual taro balls. The taro balls here have a chewy texture and are delicious whether served as a cold dessert in summer or a hot soup in winter.
Additionally, the environment at Dongdong Taro Balls is very comfortable. The seating inside the store is not crowded, with tables and partitions placed against the walls, allowing visitors to enjoy their food in a cozy setting.
Lavender Forest in Taichung
Lavender Forest in Taichung, officially known as 'Lavender Forest Lavender Cottage,' is a leisure attraction located in Xinshe District, Taichung City. The park features lush green vegetation, fields of lavender, a carousel by the fields, winding paths through the woods, and small wooden houses selling natural herbal products.
Lavender Forest was founded in 2001 by Jane and Faye, who left their original jobs to establish this lavender-themed garden farm leisure attraction in the mountainous area of Xinshe, Taichung.
The highlight of Lavender Forest is its various lavender-based products, as well as herbal cuisine, a forest café, and souvenir shops. The park promotes the cultivation of herbs and their use in cooking, allowing visitors to appreciate herbal plants and understand their uses.
Zhongshe Flower Sea
Zhongshe Tourism Flower Market is located in Houli District, Taichung City, covering an area of 6 hectares. Different flowers bloom here every month, including tulips, sunflowers, lavender, and various other flowers. It is also the most beautiful photography studio for wedding photos, with romantic and dreamy artistic landscapes set in the flower sea, making every shot look like a photo from social media influencers.
The history of Zhongshe Tourism Flower Market dates back to the Japanese colonial period when it was Gaomei Beach. However, with the opening of Taichung Port, the beach gradually silted up, leading to a decline in visitors and its eventual closure. Nevertheless, the silt accumulation has created today's ecologically rich Gaomei Wetlands.
